If you don't like waiting after doing your save, you could simply select
the compile *before* saving the source, Then RDi will prompt you to save
the resources and execute the compile after the save completes. I quit
saving a source member before submitting a compile way back in WDSC
version 5--maybe even version 4.

I, like you, prefer to keep moving ahead with the work I need to do. I
let the computer handle things it can do for me. 8-)

Re: [WDSCI-L] Delays while editing DDS with many/slow DB references

Another thingy thats being done in the UI thread - what also should be
done
in a background thread (i think) - is "synchronizing resources".

When i edit a member, i almost always have to wait for 1/2 seconds
before
the "compile" menu option is selectable, because it's "synchronizing
resources". I don't know any resources that need to be synchronized but
it's quite irritating to always have to wait 1/2/3 seconds, before being
able to select the compile menu option.
