In my case, I had to take this on from our administrator. As you referenced, there was an avoidance to use Passport Advantage - I happen to prefer it. But more importantly, the administrator didn't recognize what Rational Developer was and why we would need it. Way back in '04 or so, it was at a regional user group conference that I even found out that we already had WDSC (v5 or v6???) as part of our software media.

We got the license, because we entitle to it under our old contract/entitlement. Switching the license stuff, caused grief for our administrator...
Passport vs the old method, whatever that was...
I just try to stay out of the details of the contract. As Long as I get to use a GREAT tool like RDi 9.0.0.1 <Big Smile>
I guess the powers that be are trying to negotiate a new contract to get extended support.
OH well, I am staying out of those details!

PS 3 of approx 12 developers using Rational Developer is not too Bad!
<LOL>

Yeah, it's too bad about this Bush-caused recession.
See - there's no point (and only harm, imo) in bringing politics to the forum. Please refrain.
Hope you're able to get support, though.

I think I will ask the system administrator...
He said he was still working out details on the contact...
Just always afraid to push my luck in this Obamaville economy...
<Worried-Look>
I have seen too many good programmers laid-off in the last 4-years...

So you were able to get the license, but once again you ended up w/o support? I suppose that's a case of "I have some good news, and I have some bad news."
At least you have it now.
Hope you share how your lunchtime presentation went.

Vern,
I deserved that, and appreciate the humor...
Better than ID-10-TEE Error... (a.k.a. ID10T, IDIOT) <grin> That was code from problem users among the I.T. Staff! <LOL> Previously job long time ago...
Just so glad to have the license to RDi 9.0.0.1 <Big Smile>

Hey Ken, sounds like a PICNIC - Problem In Chair, Not In Computer!
Couldn't resist!
