If you add an external DS, I'm pretty sure you need to do a manual refresh to recognize it (possibly if the file hasn't been cached yet). Make sure the file is in your IDE's library list.

Ken,

I may not be doing exactly what you're doing, but it works fine for me on 9.0.0.1.

Did you create a new workspace, or convert your old one?  If you converted it, have you run a -clean on it yet?

Are you using the live outline?  If so, you shouldn't have to manually refresh the outline.  I expect you would have trouble with Code Assist if the outline hasn't finished the live parsing yet, though.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDI 9.0.0.1: Code-Assist for External Data-Structure

Hi,

Upgrade to RDI 9, and the Code-Assist for External Data-Structures does not work for me...

I first Refresh the Out-Line with Ctrl+Shift+F5 (Refresh Outline)

I can use Code-Assist, Ctrl+Spacebar to get the Data-Structure name. Good!

Now, I try to use Code-Assist to get the field name, and I get nothing! It works in RDP 8.0, but not in RDI 9.0?

To me this is one of the good features over using SEU...

I am disappointed that IBM latest & Greatest RDI 9.0 has LOST this feature...
