In the case of 9.0.0.1, there was a change where a feature which used to
not be included in the base product (i.e. was part of the Modernization
Tools, Java Edition features) was now included in the base. That is likely
the cause for needing disk 4.
With a fixpack, some features/plugins are updated or added, and some might
not be updated but the packaging of them might be.
Thanks,
Eric

That kind of thing happens to me, as well - we have the full product,
and it asks for disk 2 on updates - I assume that our disk 2 is 3 & 4 of
the trial download - something like that.
So you will need to get disk 4, just to have it - this may seem silly -
I certainly think it is - but it is what it is!
HTH - and that I've given you correct info this time - Eric? You
there? :)

I got the RDi 9 installed but needed "disks" 1 and 2 for the install.
When I did the update to 9.0.0.1 it asked me for disk 4.

Those 4 pieces include 2 for Data Studio - you don't need that.
Get the one for disk one of RDi - that's all you really need.

I don't know whether we got WDSC/RDi/RDp through ESS or Passport
Advantage but I am currently running RDp 8.5.1. My new manager is looking
into how to get RDi 9 and the license keys, but in the meantime I would
like to get the trial version installed and start using it. Using chat, I
got the link to it and found that the download comes in four pieces. Which
pieces do I need to download for RPG development? Once downloaded, how do I
install it? I apologize if there is a document somewhere with the
instructions. If there is, I haven't found it.
