Re: [WDSCI-L] complaint about pricing
The list price for RDi - single-user license - is about $940 bucks - not
sure where the $1246 is coming from, unless you have more than the basic
RPG/COBOL option.maintenance
I also don't know when the program was instituted, but there is a
tradeup from ADTS that is currently priced at maybe less than $600 a
seat - check with your BP.
I just hope out BP keeps us informed about maintenance - coming through
Passport Advantage, you are supposed to be notified - through BP
channels, only if the BP is diligent.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered I only had a 1 year license and
have to pay $1246 to upgrade.
As a long time IBM i user, I expect to buy all my software for the
term. Yes, I understand RDI is from a different division of IBM. But
that is not my concern. I just want to buy the software I need all at
the same time for the same term.
Now maybe my business partner made a mistake. But if IBM wants us to
use RDI, then it should be sold on the same terms as os/400 and other
licensed products. IBM should do the work of packaging products
together, not the customer.
Sorry I just needed to complain to someone.
