I would expect that if you have a license you should be able to download from Passport Advantage ?

https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rdp/ click to download the full product and choose 8.0 or 8.0.3

https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rdi/ is better though...

Edmund,

Thanks! I have always appreciated your help and support on this forum.

I am pretty sure our license ran out for upgrades. Only 4 developers use Rational Developer full-time out of approx. 15 developers...

I was told that the new license is approx. 20K - 40K. Business will NOT approve that for Editor for RPGLE.

Web-Sites says $764 per User. So at 15 Developers * $764 that would be $11,460.

As a Developer using Rational Developer for over 7-years, I LOVE IT. And absolutely hate the thought of not being able to have this fine tool!

I sent an email showing that Rational Developer has syntax check for V7R1M0, while SEU does not. I was trying to encourage more of my fellow developers to try it...

They end up downloading the Bugging RDP 8.5 with that HUGE memory leak issue. And they go back to SEU...

Anyway, I need the web-link to download the "stable" old RDP 8.0 Release, since at present we have the license for that...

It is possible, that we might get the license in the 2nd Qtr of 2014, depending on the budget...

Sorry, I am just a developer who loves using Rational Developer, I don't have a lot say in the purchase license stuff...
<Big Frown>

PS. As long as I don't have to go back to SEU, I will be happy!

Please share the link to download Rational Developer 8.0. Thanks!

Ken, I think you can push to get this done. Let me get the right feature code for you and you can tell your system administrator exactly what to order.
Jenny what is the feature code for someone in the US to upgrade from RDp
8.0 to RDi 9.0 for free using the Passport Advantage channel?
Let us know what issues your system administrator is facing and we will help iron them out. Hopefully he remembers his IBM ID and password.

Yesterday I discovered that our product web site is hard to discover
;-)
Typical stealth marketing from IBM :-( So I just wanted to let you know
that you can access it from here
http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/us/en/dev-ibm-i/

But if you will not be forced to create a passport site
before even getting in to see pricing and licensing, etc. You just sign
in with your IBM Id when you are checking out your shopping cart, just
like any other web purchase.

***********************
It still appears that I cannot export the license form RDP 8.0/8.5 to
license RDI 9.0....

I asked the system administrator about registering my RDI, and he say:
"...Using Passport Advantage to license products is just soooo hard..."

And they are trying to work out the problems....

So, I am stuck on RDP 8.0 for now... (RDP 8.5 has too many memory leak
issues. It locks up on me lot! <frown>
