Here's the solution I use for browsing spooled output:

Output queue monitor [via CHGOUTQ OUTQ(my-outq) DTAQ(my-dataq)] copies
spooled file to stream file. Navigator view is used to access
resulting text files. LPEX editor offers viewing and searching vastly
superior to DSPSPLF.

nested under your Connection in the Remote Systems Explorer
