Whoops, yes that is for the Editor.
Windows>Preference>General>Editors>File Associations
If you left the "Screen Designer" out there, just select it, and then click the "Default" button.
If you removed it, then click the "Add..." button, and select: "Screen Designer"
(Note: You can't find it, if it is already on the list for file associations. Select it, and click "Default".)
I notice you can change the default Debug perspective, but maybe you cannot do that with the "Screen Designer".
To change the Debug-Perspective, just to show it:
Windows>Preferences>Run/Debug>Perspective
So, on Debug, I can change my default perspective. Maybe it isn't allowable for the Screen Designer...
I guess you can change for Debug, because to debug a JAVA-PROGRAM, you want to open up the "java Debug Perspective" vs. Open the "IBM I Debug Perspective"....
The default perspective is "DEBUG" for the debug perspective...

Hi Ken, that preference is for the Editor. Both the DDS Designer and my
IBM i DDS Designer open the Screen Designer editor. What I want is that
it opens the perspective.
There used to be a window when I open a DDS, now that window no longer
appears. Do you know how to get it back?
Thanks,
Rob

I have mine set to:
*.dspf --> Screen Designer(defaults)
Just switch to your preference!

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Change perspective for DDS...
Hi all, I've checked the archives and looked around the preferences but
can't find what I'm looking for.
When I open a display file (DDS) I see the window "This kind of editor is
associated with the DDS Design perspective. Do you want to open this
perspective now?".
I created an IBM i DDS Design perspective. How do I get RDi (V9) to open
my perspective when I open a DDS?
Thanks,
Rob
