His request seems legitimate to me. It also strikes me as probably possible, if only we phrased the issue properly. I didn't catch that he wanted this for CL, but I can't see that as being the deciding issue. It also seemed to me that he isn't looking to change the color when the source is opened in PDM, either.

I also tried looking for ways to change the font size, outline, squiggle, or otherwise mark the text and struck out on all of those choices.

Since he is concerned with compiling this, he could make a new compile command in the "Work with compile commands" choice and then copy/paste that command into the source header. That really stands out; programmers will see that, and it is there as a reminder for himself in his own setup.
