Hi,

I have a SQLRPGLE program with a tricky logic problem that needs debugging. It is named TR0869. A colleague was working on this, but he asked for help and I created a copy of the source (TR0869.PB) to play with some source changes that might help.

I set my SEP (service entry point) on the *libl/TR0869.PB object, and ran the program. To my surprise, the debug perspective opened and displayed the source for the TR0869 program, but not the TR0869.PB program. (It did the same when I had previously loaded the TR0869.PB source, as well.)

I checked the correct program was running (e.g. the debug view said TR0869.PB:TR0869.PB:TR0869.PB), and that the included modules and source members listed in the program were correct. I then renamed the source member TR0869PB, compiled, set SEP and ran again, and this time the correct source was displayed.

I tried an RPGLE program (copy source to name.XX, change prototype name to EXTPGM('name.XX'), compile, set SEP on name.XX and run) and the debug perspective showed the 'name' member. It appears that the dot in the member/program name causes confusion for RDP somewhere. I had a colleague test this and he found exactly the same.

Can someone either tell me this is a known bug, or verify that it happens on their system? If it isn't known then I will raise a PMR.

-Paul.

PS This only seems to happen when the original source member is still in the library list. If not then the *SOURCE view is displayed, but it doesn't look like the correct *SOURCE view as the source highlighting is not working. (It looks like the *LIST view instead...?)

PPS Everything is compiled with the DGBVIEW(*SOURCE) option, in case that matters.
