Hi Edmund

I did the refresh after connecting - I seemed to get the view option in at least one instance. Will keep watching this.

Yes the triangles are annotations that the live outline puts there for

Did you try to do a refresh on the outline view once connected to VPN?
The refresh button attempts to get all the info from the host like copy
books. Otherwise the cache is used to improve your performance.
Caveat, for RDi 9.0 we have added an in-memory cache for referenced file
info. This substantially speeds up the parse and makes the info available
if you want to reference the same file via LIKEREC, external described data
structures etc. The one impact which Jim pointed out, is that if you
change the data/device file during an RPG edit session, the outline will
still pick up the in memory copy and not see the change. Jim has opened a
PMR and I plan to change it so that the refresh button will pick up changes
to data/device files and refresh or flush the in-memory cache.

I just opened RDi 9 - I'm connected over a VPN - and I see a warning
triangle on the left - hovering over it, it says the /COPY member is not
available. I don't remember seeing that triangle in earlier releases,
but maybe it was there - nice touch, anyhow.

The live outline is on, so it probably comes through that.

OK, so I was not connected - got the VPN fired up, now the triangles are
gone, but the right=click option is still not there.

So I ended and started RDi - one member still showed the warnings - I
refreshed outline, as it said, and the /COPY option came on, and it was
there in other members.

This didn't happen until I restarted with the VPN actually on - I don't
know, this thing has been semi-flaky for many releases.

Cheers
Vern

I have seen that one too in 8.5. Still not sure what the conditions are
that cause either. Intermittent issues are probably the hardest to find.
Maybe an initialization issue somewhere?

I've used the right-click menu to browse a copybook quite a lot, and I've
been fortunate and have not had the issue mentioned at any version.
In 8.5 (and possibly before) I had an issue where the option to browse
the copybook wouldn't even appear, but that seems like a different issue
(and so far it hasn't happened to me in 9.0).

I had that, the other day in 8.5, but it is now working properly for the
same copy members. They do exist, and I did not change my library list.

In RDi V9.0, I am trying to view the source of a /COPY book. To do
this, I would position my cursor on the line with the /COPY directive. I
then right click the line and can select either /COPY Edit or /COPY Browse.
However neither are working. At the bottom of the LPEX Editor, I get
"*LIBL/*LIBL/<Object>(<Member>) not found". I'm trying to figure out why I
have two *LIBL references. I've had this problem on occasion with RDP V8.5
but don't know why this is happening. I've looked for any control setting
in the Parameters section but find nothing. Anyone else encounter this
issue?
I never have, but then again I don't usually open up /COPY members like
that. I'll keep an eye open though.
I tried it on the following:

H/copy qrpglesrc,stdhspec - works

H/copy stdhspec - works

H/copy tdhspec - *libl/*libl not found error. In addition I get a
yellow caution / exclamation point error on the line saying the /copy
member is not available (as expected.)
Is your /copy looking at a different library? Do you see any warning
indicators on the source? Does it compile? Trying to see what might be
different between yours and mine.
