Thanks Brian,

I did change the LPEX Editor background and
am ok with my results with that.

Have yet to found a way to set background for
Remote Systems and Outline - two Perspectives
I use heavily.

I think if you were to issue the command:

set default.font "IBM3270-LAO-regular-12"

with no active 5250 session, the LPEX editor
font will not change.

Also, when I have RDP set for an IBM3270 font,
the font defaults to courier when I close the
last 5250 session.

set current.font "Courier New-8"
returns message:
"current.font" is not a valid parameter for the "set" command.

current.font can only be used with the query command - not the set command.

Try set font "Courier New-8" or set default.font "Courier New-8"

Also: my LPEX > APPEARANCE font is set to "IBM3270-LAO-regular-12"
This font only works in RDP when I have an active iSeries Access for
Windows session.
I kind of hate that dependency, but it is not an issue because I
commonly use PDM, command line and QCMD.

Hmm .. that does not seem right. I seldom have a 5250 session active and RDP font changes work just fine. Something else is afoot, I'll wager.

Another detail relating to read-ability I question is use of white
background, especially for long sessions entering code.

You can change almost any aspect of LPEX's appearance - including the background. Check out the Preferences.

Brian Parkins.
