My layouts reset as well, but easy enough to recreate those. All plugins I use installed and seem to be working well.

I noticed the missing Fast View option too, and will miss it a bit. I have a hotkey binding to open my Snippets drawer, and as long as I kept that as a Fast View I could evoke with the hotkey, insert my snippet, then dismiss with the escape key. I created a new binding (Ctrl+F4) to close the current part. Works about the same, just not as intuitive as the escape key was...

I don't remember having to redo my perspective layout on upgrades in the
8.0 to 8.5.1 range.

They also don't transfer with an export/import of preferences. (At first I thought that key bindings also did not transfer, but you need to restart after the import for them to apply.)

For fast views, yes they are gone with the new eclipse and minimized parts replace them.
Apart from the quick access method mentioned, you can click on the icons of the minimized view and you can also assign a shortcut to the view.

Have a nice day.
