I know I've seen the delay in the DDS parser before, but now I'm wondering if I saw it on an earlier version (am on the most current version right now). I was just working in a 1200 line DDS and there was no waiting.

It does seem like the larger the DDS source, the longer the parser takes. I don't spend too much time with DDS, so I've generally just lived with it. However, it was never so long as 30-60 seconds.

I too feel it is the outline (or the other views) updating. It's been that way since inception; I've just gotten used to it.

Elden,
I have noticed the same issue for some time now, but since I am not
authorized to open a PMR, the development team has not been able to
work on it.

I would suggest you ( or the authorized person) open a PMR for this issue.

I've been experiencing problems while editing DDS in RDP 8.5.1.

I've set the LPEX editor as the default.

Seems that every couple of characters I type causes an hourglass for
30-60
seconds at a time. Very hard to get anything done that way. In all
other aspects, RDP seems to behave normally.

I notice this primarily when typing in the functions section of the
DDS spec (column 45 and beyond).

I thought perhaps it was updating the outline view or something. But
the DDS parser doesn't seem to have the checkbox to disable the
real-time updating that the RPG parser does.

Any ideas?
