We do not have a demo available of the new behaviour at this time. In
general, the Outline view will show the same information as before but
there some differences.
From
http://wilson.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iadthelp/v8r5/topic/com.ibm.etools.iseries.rse.doc/topics/coutlinerpg.html#coutlinerpg__ilerpg:
With the Update the Outline view when text is changed in the editor
preference selected, there are some changes in the Outline view:
Items are listed in the order that they appear in the source.
A Sort button alphabetically sorts the items.
A Collapse All button collapses all expanded items.
Parameter lists are listed.
For additional information about the Outline view when the preference is
selected, see
http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21592728
Notes about the Outline view for ILE RPG source:
If the "Update the Outline view when text is changed in the editor"
preference is selected, there may be some cases of ILE RPG source
with errors which cause the Outline view to not update. In these
cases, warning icons are displayed in the editor.

Is there a demo, or something showing off the features of the outline view?

I noticed that Subroutines now display in the outline as the order they
are in the source. Weren't they alphabetized before? This does make
sense in that procedures were always in the order they appeared in the
source.
However, this makes me consider putting in an RFE to have the
subroutines& procedures listed in alphabetical order. Does anyone else
place their procedures in the source alphabetically in order to make the
outline list them alphabetically (and thus make them easier to find in the
outline)?
