Michael,
Don't worry, I did not take your comments negatively :) I just wanted to
let the IBM i COBOL users in on why the AIX COBOL tooling has advanced so
quickly, especially when the IBM i COBOL tooling has not. But don't
worry, we are not ignoring you or the tools, there just really are some
big technical hurdles to get over for the IBM i tooling to get to be able
to share some of the common AIX and System z tools. So we welcome this
kind of feedback, the more demand the better.

In reading your response, I saw mine and that it could be taken
negatively. Please don't read that into my comments. Eric Simpson (or
one of the other fine members of your team) replied shortly after my
message. He explained the difference in the internals of the languages. I
probably should have replied and thanked him for the explanation. Anyway,
I'm grateful for the work everyone does on the tools. It definitely makes
my life easier and more productive.
