The double-click opens sql files in a QuantumDB editor (for me) when my *.sql files are on the PC or in the iSeries IFS (mostly), but if they are in an iSeries library then it opens the Lpex editor instead (no matter what I do.) If the SQL isn't valid, the QuantumDB editor appears to be unable to offer any benefits over the standard editor, and even if it is valid the alt + down keypresses (etc.) are not available.

Note that I talk about the QuantumDB editor, not perspective. The perspective doesn't auto-open for me.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Using quantum db

Hi all,

I'm trying to make the switch to QUANTUM DB but having some difficulties. I have a whole load of *.SQL files that I store my frequently or more complicated queries in. I'd like to be able to do the following, which is no problem with the ibm sql editor :

1 : open a *.sql file with a double click instead of right click then choose Quantum at the bottom of the list.
2 : have the sql file open within the quantum db perspective.
3 : be able to use the '.' instead of the '/' to qualify table names.
4 : be able to use the eclipse keyboard keys to edit ( alt + down to move lines, etc) - can't even click right and select copy/paste.

Merci, y'all!
