My take is the source is changing because you're converting it.

That said, the best I can think of (for WDSC--I assume RDp has a similar
function) is to change the dates as desired. In preferences under 'LPEX
Editor' and 'User Actions', I added a user action named setDate using
Class name 'com.ibm.lpex.samples.SetDateAction'. Then under 'User Key
Actions', I added a-f2 (Alt+F2) with Action 'setDate'. Then I can select
whatever line or lines I want, press Alt+F2, and set the change date. I
know this means you have to know the previous dates for the converted
lines, but it is a start.

The best bet is probably to try Craig Rutledge's open source iSeries Tools
which are indeed at: www.jcrcmds.com. Since they are open source, you
should be able to modify them to retain the source change date--except
that additional lines may be added or lines may be removed to properly
convert the source. What dates would you want to use in that case?

Re: [WDSCI-L] Convert to free and retain source member line date
question

Craig Rutledge has tools for doing the conversion - he provides source -

you might be able to make that work.

I think it's www.jcrcmds.com but not sure - we posted his link recently.

One of my programmers asked the following regarding using WDSCi:

"When converting to free form, is there anyway to keep the date from
updating on the source lines?
Some kind of setting change perhaps?"

My answer was "Good question and I don't know."

Two other programmers responded they didn't know of any way to prevent
the
line date from changing.

Does anyone know if this can be done?

Thanks, Jerry
