Thanks Buck.

I decided to use my copy of Ultraedit (http://www.ultraedit.com/) which does have extensive RegEx functionality. Then again, Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/) is free so I would've used that if I was searching for a text editor to supplement LPEX.

Are there any help pages for using Rexx with Code/400? The option of not having to cut&paste the whole source file is attractive.

Can anyone tell me how to get the REPLACE text to have newlines in it? Don't worry about mentioning other tools that convert to /FREE more successfully, as I can only work with the tools I have.

Can you download a more regex-friendly editor? Notepad++ does not have full support for the Posix regexp, but this worked:

find: ^(.....)C (\d\d) ITER\s*$
repl: \1C IF *IN\2 = *ON\n\1C
ITER\n\1C ENDIF\n

I copy/paste the section of text I want to work with. I also tend to use Rexx macros in Code/400 for this sort of thing.
