Re: RDP debug problem - how to get fix

FWIW I've had it crash on debugging (after many iterations of debug on a
program LOL). I was getting the infamous "out of memory" error. It
appears that the debugger doesn't free up any memory as debug is
terminated (even if you "remove all terminated"). I'm running v8.0.0.1 of
RDP.

Installation Manager is your ally in this procedure.

I suggest starting Installation Manager (IM) and then hitting the big
Update button. If you only have one package group installed, it's
simple - just hit next and the program will walk you through the steps.
Sometimes IM itself requires an update. I just ran through the steps
while typing this message and IM first updated itself, then it restarted
and I updated my WebSphere Test Environment (I'm running RBD in my
workspace as well as RDP).

Warning: updates are typically not small. You'll need a good Internet
pipe to get things in a timely manner. My home system can take hours to
download updates. But other than that, updates are pretty painless.

When my colleagues& I run debug over RPG programs, it sometimes
"hangs". We did not have this problem with 7.6 version. We have heard
that we should update to a newer release/PTF. Currently we are on
8.0.0. How do we get the newer release? Can someone please provide
precise how to instructions?
