Here's another suggestion from the RPG list, though I have not tried it 
explicitly myself:

"If you go Window->Preferences->Remote Systems->iSeries->Command 
Execution there should be a JOBD associated with submitted jobs (eg. 
compiles)."

Obviously you want a JOBD that specifies an OUTQ with no printer.
