I have had no issues with RDP and RPG IV.

Thanks Joe. That's good to know.

Sorry, Rick, had one of those days :)

Anyway, there's a big cache that I like to clear when things get really slow. It helps everything. Not sure why; obviously someone at IBM needs to look at it, but anyway here's the trick:

Go to Windows > Preferences. Key cache into the search box, and up should come three different locations. I don't mess with the one under Network Connections, but under Remote System is one called File Cache and under IBM i is one called just Cache. You can clear both. In my experience, the File Cache is the one that messes up the most. For some reason it gets stuck and refuses to update itself, and you just have to clear it.

Note that this will close all your open files.

Joe
Joe,

Could you elaborate please? I thought there was only one cache and clearing it during a verify cleared everything. Am I missing something?

Rick

Did you clear the caches completely? Both in Preferences and in Verify?

Joe

Second customer to report this in two weeks!

For one user (and only one) the Outline view will not populate for
RPG IV. DDS, RPG400 work fine - but no RPG IV.

Last week was on RDP 7.6.1 - this week it is RDP 8. Nothing in the
log - everything else appears to work. Even manually caching the file
seems to have no effect.

Any suggestions as to where to look for clues?
