Hi Richard,
Unfortunately I'm not aware of what you're talking about. The last migration I did was the first time I switched versions with a computer change, and nothing came up about the computer name changing (although for all I know, the network administrator made it so my new computer's name was the same as the old).
Sorry I can't be of more help.
-Kurt

How about when your laptop changes names? We have found that when moving
WDSC6 or 7 to new machine, we have to find/replace the computer's name everywhere. Are you saying there is a function in the software that gets around this? Is this something new in RDi or RDPi? Thanks Rick

Hi Steve,
I would make a copy of your RDp 7.6 workspace, put it on your new laptop, and then point RDp 8.0 to it. 8.0 will migrate the workspace - it should work pretty seamless.
Thanks,
Kurt Anderson

Currently running 7.8 of RDp, got a new laptop & would like to install
V8 of RDp & use my existing workspace so I dont have to setup all that again.
What steps should I use to make this as seamless as possible? Do I need to install version 7.8 on laptop, put my workspace directory on & then upgrade to V8? Do I just need to copy the IBM\rationalsdp7.0\workspace directory to get all my settings?
TIA
Steve Jones
