Charles.
I first saw WDSc in 2004. The whole shop had an introductory lesson to V5.1. We all dropped it rapidly afterwards as it was so full of bugs. In 2006, I discovered midrange.com and that got me started again. I learned how to cope with V5.1's bugs so that I knew how to avoid them. I gradually made the transition from SEU and was the only user in our shop. After battling to get V6.0 installed, my boss realised it's advantages and I was even invited to teach everyone all I knew about it. Like teaching old dogs new tricks. I tried to explain that you don't just change from seu/pdm to wdsc in one switch. Result : I had so much to teach (yes, even I) in such a short time that after a few days everyone just went back to their green screens. I'd have preferred showing one thing at a time and going forward when everyone had taken the time to learn and understand how to use each feature.
Then, as the OS evolved, things started to go wrong with WDSC6.0. As I was the only user, there was no way admin was going to keep me or the iseries up todate. Bits were breaking off every where : SEP went long ago. Can you imagine you need to debug an rpg application invoked from a website and you have sep but can't use it?
So, now the boss has understood that something might have to give, as seu will no longer evolve. We all have been given the go ahead to install rdp7.6. Naturally, I've dived in right at the deep end and I was really looking forward to RE discovering SEP and code designer. But I can see where all this is going : there are bugs everywhere; I look around me and I see greenscreens everywhere. Soon the trial period will be up and it'll be back to V6.0.1. What I will miss will be the speed and the multi editing views, maybe one or two other features. But I'm giving up fighting against the bugs. I find it incredible : Where else would you find clients queuing up to buy a product that didn't work?
Don't forget, I have to work as well. The greenscreeners are moving faster than I am. That's why I'm going to stick to RSE and LPEX.

I'm afraid I won't be using screen designer again.
So you give a new tool one shot?
One thing you _believe_ it doesn't handle as well as SDA and
you've given up?
I didn't expect this from you David.
