Below is a snip from my documentation dated 5/4/2010 - this is in response
to another question in this list. This applies to using 7.0.0.8 running on
Win7-Pro. When we tried to do fresh installs on 7-Pro we had some problems
for which the work-around below was documented. Hope it helps.
"You can upgrade WDSC7 from within the IDE like you could with 6.0."
No - you have to go through the Installation Manager in V7.
I found a work-around though.
First be sure you have Java installed (Win7 doesn't by default). On the
second install we did have Java installed but ran into the same errors
while trying to update Installation Manager so it's not a (lack of) Java
issue.
I was able to find links to an exe that installs Installation Manager 1.3.
for windows here:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24024682
That worked to get I.M. up to version 1.3.
However I didn't try to use it to access V7.0.0.8 updates from the
internet as I have those updates locally in a repository (along with
interim fix 1) that I found here:
WDSC Downloadable zip:
http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/awdtools/wdsc/v7/7008/zips/
WDSC AE Downloadable zips:
http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/awdtools/wdscae/v7/7008/zips/
I downloaded these zips and extracted them to network folders. Then in the
Installation Manager I added local repositories for each and did the
updates from there.
Thanks!
