Just don't put words in my mouth. I really hate when people decide what I meant and then argue with it.
Strange - I could have sworn that was just what you did with me.
One has no choice _but_ to decide what someone meant when they are not explicit Joe - and you didn't mention the code base - so I assumed you meant the design. I obviously misunderstood your intent - my bad - I unreservedly apologize for whatever slight you feel was aimed at you.Not at me! At the designers of CODE! My analogy was simple: RPG Free has as little to do with RPG II as Screen Designer has to do with CODE. The comparison was in the relationship, not the entities themselves. Although I suppose I can see how it could be misconstrued. I hate forums sometimes.
But sure as hell it was no worse than the way you misinterpreted my comments. And now I see. I really didn't get that from your comment, and I apologize as well. I thought you meant that CODE was easier to use than Screen Designer. Look back over what you wrote and see if you couldn't get that same impression. But clearly you didn't mean it that way - my turn to offer up a mea culpa.
I like the new designer - and use it - I no longer use CODE Designer. Clear enough?
But I see no reason not to comment when I think that a particular feature is a step backwards. No, certainly not. And I'm sure Brian would love to get your input. You did know that he's the same person who designed the WYSIWYG for EGL Rich UI, didn't you? He's a brilliant designer. If you see something you really think needs fixing, I don't think he would argue. Doesn't mean he'll get the chance to put it in right away, but he will listen.
