My tools do something similar. What I ended up doing was
copying the EVFEVENT file back to the *CURLIB.

For me, the problem was that my build script would compile
all if it's modules into QTEMP, and then create a program or
service program from
the modules. Because the output was QTEMP, my EVFEVENT files could
never be found (since QTEMP is different for every job)

Switching my tools to compile the modules in a "real" library
solved the

problem for me..
