Thanks but that did not solve my issue.

After the compile the error list view appears. I double
click an error,
start to fix the error. The very first character I key causes the
cursor to change focus to the error list view.

Yes, I see what you mean. I tried my "fix" again and it didn't work. Now I've tried other combos of message insert/remove options in the error list view. Sometimes the problem is fixed, other times no, for a particular set of settings. It is really flakey. It seems now that any change to the view settings "fix" the problem, but it comes back the next time you restart RDi. Or that the problem occurs only on the first compile of an edit session and returns for that member when next reopended. Or maybe its on a timer designed by some evil genius to confound us poor programmers.
