Thanks but that did not solve my issue.
After the compile the error list view appears. I double click an error,
start to fix the error. The very first character I key causes the
cursor to change focus to the error list view.
This issue occurs each time for the first compile for a source member,
no matter how many times I open it.
I set on and off both "Previous messages from editor" and "Addressed
Messages", neither helped solve the my issue.
Thanks, Matt

Is there a setting that I can chose to stop RDi from taking control
(focus) of the cursor after I start to fix an error in the
source view?
Yes. On the "Error List" view menu, deselect "Automatically Remove" ->
"Previous messages from editor".
Works for me with "IBM(r) Rational(r) Developer for i V 7.5.0.3
(7.5.0.20090618_1014)"
and "IBM(r) Rational(r) Developer for Power Systems Software V 7.5
(7.5.0.20091211_1526)".
