I just figured out a way to force the correct monitor as the primary. It
involved unplugging the VGA monitor, and hitting the monitor toggle button
on the laptop until the large DVI is the only monitor activated. Then
close the laptop lid, and plug in the smaller VGA monitor. Under window's
monitor setup, specify to stretch the display to a second monitor, and that
activates the VGA monitor as the secondary. We'll see how it goes tomorrow
as I power up again after being shut off over night. I'll do more testing
to see what happens if the monitors are powered off, since the laptop is
the only thing that will function on its battery.

Also, I apologize that this thread has become little to do with WDSC.
Maybe it would have been better in another category.

I expect pop ups to appear in the middle of my screen. If you extend the
"screen" to cover more than one actual monitor the pop up will be in the
middle of your new expanded "screen". I run 2 monitors, but unlike the
original poster I am able to run WDCS ( not using RDi yet) on my main
monitor. I doubt if IBM will consider this an issue worth addressing.
Maybe a fix can be addressed in a future version of eclipse, then all you
have to do is wait for IBM to support that version.

I had the same problem at my former job. I couldn't find a way around the
issue, either. If I set up the two monitors as one continuous screen,
then the prompts appeared in the middle between the two screens; in other
words, 1/2 the window on one screen, 1/2 on the other, chopped in the
middle. While I currently do not have a multiple monitor setup, down the
road when that becomes an option any solution to this would help me as
well.

Could this be a Windows setting outside of WDSC/RDi?

Anyone solve this? Is this no longer an issue with RDi?

setup

I have a multiple monitor setup (dual monitors) that I use with Rdi/WDSC.
I have to have my larger monitor setup as a secondary, because of the way
my laptop docking station works with the VGA and DVI output. Anyway, If I
put RDi on the larger screen, all the prompt pop-up windows go to the
other
monitor, which is the primary monitor defined by windows. Is there anyway
to tell RDi/WDSC to send to display these popup windows on a different
monitor?
