Another feature is alt-z - when you have used one of the block commands - like alt-r = whatever you have selected, put your cursor somewhere, and that block will be laid over that region - this works even between source edit windows.

Try it - you might like it!!

Vern,

You are correct. I set up my Alt-F key to do a blockFill in user key
actions. I had forgotten about that. I liked that as much as I do fills.
That way I don't have to grab the mouse and right click and all that
slowness.

You might have a custom key binding - alt-f does nothing on my WDSC -
right-click L E does open up the little command line, where you type
whatever will fill - can be multiple character, actually, and is
especially nice if you want the same string in multiple columns.

My favorite way is to highlight the comment column using alt-r, arrow
down
or up to select the lines to comment out, then use alt-f (fill) and key
an *
and press enter. That fills the selected area with the character(s)
entered.

I know that you can't do block commenting in RPGIV (at least that I'm
aware of), so is there something in LPEX that will help me comment out
large blocks of code quickly without having to put a asterick on each
line?
