I got clarification from IBM, that an upgrade would normally be covered in
the SWM agreement. As an aside, its apparently separate from the normal
(system formally known as System i) maintenance. Anyway, since we got 7.1
as part of the hardware or the 6.1 upgrade, we didn't technically get the
full version, so we don't have the 1 year maintenance for upgrading, and
we'll have to pay to get to 7.5. Given that there is very little new
end-user functionality in 7.5, I'll wait to see what comes in future
versions, and save on yearly RDi maintenance to boot.

I upgraded from RDi 7.1 to RDi 7.5 sometime last year when 7.5 came out and
there was nothing about paying for the upgrade and as far as I know, we
didn't get billed for the upgrade so I assume it was part of the lic.

RDi.
