I have experienced this multiple times. I refresh the OUTLINE view. I go into FILES and click on an externally defined printer file. There are record formats in the printer file that do not show up on the OUTLINE view. To make matters worse, there are printer file record formats that are used in the program that do not show up in the outline view!!!
I am forced now, to go back to the FIND [ctrl + f] to locate all the references to printer file formats. This is RIDICULOUS!!! I might as well just go back to PDM!!!!!! And this is particularly a pain because WDSC does not even show all the record formats in the file!!! So, I now have to open ANOTHER WDSC window for the printer file source, manually locate each record definition, and then scan the RPG for that definition to see where it is used!!!!!!!
I am on WDSC version 7.0.0, build ID# 20070202_0030
This "problem" also occurs with things other than externally defined printer files. It happens with fields too.
Why is WDSC written this way? It is ridiculous in my view point. This problem seems to have occurred on the prior release of WDSC also that I was using.
Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this????
Thank you,
Doug
