The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Jon and Joe have more exposure than I do to people moving from SEU to

Well I think it takes more than an hour or two ... but certainly not
90 days. You can learn it in a hour or two, but in my experience it
won't stick unless the exposure is more in-depth. Of course a lot
depends on how they were taught <grin> and how much peer pressure
there is on them to not drop back into old habits!
We find the biggest challenges are:
A) Convincing them that they _can_ do everything as fast or faster in
RSE than SEU if they learn to use the tool properly so that they don't
have the "I'll just drop back into SEU for this one quick change"
mentality. Of course in a few rare cases it is true - but if they
adopt that mentality from the outset they will never gain the
familiarity with the tool that they need to really understand the
productivity boost.
B) To not try to do everything the "SEU way" - in some ways the CC,
DD, etc. SEU commands are a negative as it invites the "I use CC to
copy between members - stupid tool I won't use it" mentality.
C) Dealing with team members who are determined that it is a waste of
time and doesn't give them anything that SEU doesn't have. Which is
horse-hockey, but it is hard to convince someone who's perspective is
not based on a rational perspective in the first place. Bit like
trying to convince a hard-core Republican/Democrat that someone who
supports the other party is not inherently evil!
If we are teaching RSE it is a two day class which includes everything
up to and including customizing the workbench, keyboard shortcuts,
filters, screen and print design, debug, etc. etc. If combining it
with RPG skills enhancement etc. we cut down to a day to a day and a
half and force (yes force) them to use the tool for all class
exercises so that they get extra "real world" experience using the tool.
