When you can't see a variable in the outline (such as in a SUBR), you
can usually mouse over the variable in the source and see the value.

What I did in the short term just for testing was moving the LDA field
into
a work field just for debugging. So where I had break points I moved the
LDA field into the work field and got the answer I was after. I just had
to
remember to remove those lines when done testing and putting the program
back into production.

Fred,

I can't explain the behavior but do encounter it from time to time.
Sometimes I can view field values and later in the same session I can't.
The monitors view does seem to work consistently though. Whenever I have
a
situation like the one you describe I simply monitor the field.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] WDSC Debugging the LDA

Hello,

I'm new to WDSC debugging and when trying to debug a RPGLE program I
wanted
to see the value of a field in the LDA and WDSC would not allow it. The
field was defined in the D specs with UDS.

The version of WDSC is 7 and the OS/400 we are at V5R4.

Is it possible to view the values of fields in the LDA while using WDSC
to
debug a program?
