Bryce,
I also have dual screens and have used the "New Window" option and drag
the new window to my other screen, the only difference is that I use
Ctrl+Shift+A to open a source in browse mode. I don't know if that makes a
difference.

Subject
[WDSCI-L] RSE in new window throwing an error when attempting to open
file.

I'm using WDSC 7 with all the latest updates. Here's the problem. I have

my main workbench open and go to Window -> New Window. I then have the
RSE open. So I pick the correct iSeries from the list, go to the iSeries
Objects and find my user library. I then expand it to source. I go down
and find the file that I want to work on and double click it. When I do
that I get an error box that comes up and says... Operation failed. File
system input or output error.

When I click the details button it says Message reported from file system:

java.lang.NullPointerException.

I can open and close files in the main window just fine, but the new
window isn't working. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting but
nothing. The last time it happened I think I rebooted and it was ok after

that. I'm going to try to reboot now and see if that solves it. If
anybody has any thoughts I'd greatly appreciate it. By the way, I have
dual screens set up so that I can be looking at 2 sets of program code on
one screen and a couple more on the other if I find myself into a complex
issue...but I digress. I wasn't sure if having two screens would have
anything to do with it?

Thanks
