I believe that *ISO supports dates from '0001-01-01' to '9999-12-31'. *MDY only supports '01/01/40' (1940) to '12/31/39' (2039). I believe that Michael is correct that his problem is due to Quantum defaulting to *MDY, and I hope that the suggestions others have made about adding an explicit date format command to the connect string fix his problem.

Note that if *ISO didn't support dates before 1/1/40, Michael wouldn't have been able to put them in the database in the first place.

You could update the columns with a valid beginning date from some
arbitrary point. I think for ISO dates the first acceptable date was
somewhere in the 1940's.

1000-01-01 is definitely an invalid date in the database from my
understanding so I don't think Quantum is at fault.
