This is not only counter-intuitive, but it breaks one of the selling points of filters: having all the source for a given task in a filter.

I search my filters multiple times a day; typically to locate code that needs attention. I can't use regex to make my searches smarter, and I can't accumulate the 'hits' in another filter (to search, copy, print or edit the list of results) although the Remote Search view at least shows me the list, and I open or browse each member.
