However, for those that haven't split their applications into multiple tiers, this doesn't help. In my case however, our vendor has split it out so it may pay dividends.
Compare that to Ruby on Rails (which I know little about, but hear about all the time)...
Obviously the second scenario is going to rely on ODBC for i dataFrom what I gather JRuby should be able to run on the i now, so it is JDBC which should be quite ok.
I have not looked into it recently, so I might be wrong.
