I just threw out a brand new Logitech laser mouse that caused the cursor
to randomly jump across the screen in response to (probably) mouse move
messages. I thought it was something in X11, but I put an old Microsoft
mouse in its place, and it worked fine. I tried the Logitech on my
wife's Windows box, and it was just as quirky there. This isn't a
virtual machine/KVM situation is it?

| Some versions of Logitech Mouseware do not play nice with other IBM
| products when you use the mouse wheel - especially Code/400 and iSeries
| Access Setup.
|
| Regardless of the mouse manufacturer, try updating your drivers with the
| latest version.
|
| Also, make sure you have not mapped 'Application Close' to the scroll
| wheel click function (if your scroll can click like a middle button, and
| if your mouse software allows mapping of keyboard functions to mouse
| actions)....
