I don't use
compare/merge that much, but I find the WDSc plug-in to be more
intuitive.

I agree with Kent that the interface for merging using the RSE Extensions is preferable. However, it is worth noting that any edits made while in compare/merge mode (including merges) will cause all sequence number and date information for that source member to be lost.
