I had something similar as well. I uninstalled the Installation Manager that was on the system. When I started the install process over, the Installation Manager was reinstalled and things went good after that.

Last week, we discovered that one of our developers was still using WDSc 6. This morning I attempted to install version 7 but with little success.

I closed out all of the running programs and inserted the first CD, and it locked up the machine. After restarting the PC using the power button, I again attempted the install. It failed with the following message: "The installer encountered an error when installing IBM Installation Manager. Installation has discontinued. Return code=-1".

Any ideas?
