Isn't SCS a basic component of a CMS?True. But it's not CMS. I don't recommend SCS because it's not CMS.
If you need to share, I have found Subversion, Subclipse and Eclipse TeamShare is different than manage and promote. SCS is about sharing, CMS about distribution. Different focus.
