what do you get for your $800 (plus yearly SWMA)? Or to put it another
way, why not continue using WDSc?

You won't get language syntax updates in WDSC. So the editor/verifier won't
recognize any new RPG keywords, built-ins and op codes, for example. For
V6R1 it's mostly keywords plus allowing files in subprocedures - stuff like
that. The language reference manuals are frozen at V5R4.

At the first release of RDi, you'll get an integrated DDS screen designer
and a pretty cool application diagrammer for looking at the relationships
and logic flow both within a source member and between
programs/procedures/service programs.

As someone else has said, there will very likely be more features and
updates as new releases come out.

Assuming there does turn out to be no upgrade path from WDSc to RDi, the
first question to ask is, what do you get for your $800 (plus yearly SWMA)?
Or to put it another way, why not continue using WDSc?

Joe--I hope you are right about an upgrade path to RDi but the chat seems
pretty clear on the issue.

"Question from Mkirkpatrick: Are there any circumstances under which one
is entitled to copies of RDi or RDi-S? If not, what is the pricing?
GeorgeFarr says: No chance of entitlement. RDi and RDi SOA are NEW
products. RDi is $795."
