In order to get something reasonable up and running at all, we must be able to use jt400 to access the AS/400, and the hooks to provide virtual filesystems not based on actual files is as far as I have gathered available in Eclipse 3.4 and forward. Hence you need C code which is IBM-only, and then the initial barrier is extremely high to get ANYTHING done in plain Eclipse.
them - that in Eclipse we have the foundations to "do it ourselves" - but frankly I don't see it happening.
