I prefer develop & debug in the environment that I'm targeting.
Although I've never actually used websphere, I don't trust it to work
the same as Tomcat.

I understand your point, but that gets to be difficult when you're using old
versions of environments. I'm not certain that's the issue, but Tomcat 4 is
six years old; that's awfully long in the tooth in the J2EE world.


(I realize this is a two-step process, but it's been so easy for me that
I've never HAD to debug Tomcat, thus my lack of concrete help <grin>.)

I might give it a try though.

Or you could try using a later version of Tomcat and see if that works. If
so, it might give you an impetus to upgrade your Tomcat environment.
