-Can Subversion run on the iSeries?
Yes. Softlanding offers a version of Subversion that runs on the iSeries (
http://www.softlanding.com/subversion/), but I don't know if it's free. It has sparked interest here in the office, and we will look into that.
Still, it is not necessary to have Subversion running on the iSeries to be able to use it with WDSC and the iSeries. A small PC server may do (we are happily using an old Pentium III with Windows 2000 as our Subversion server). However, I want to explore using Subversion on the iSeries.
-Is the Subclipse plug-in for connecting Eclipse to Subversion compatible with WDSc?
Yes it is, but only for version 7 (version 6 I'm not sure... the current plug-in from Subversion requires Eclipse 3.x). I was able to implement Subversion on version WDSc 5, but it's a big PITA...

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Subversion & iSeries
I am interested in using Subversion with WDSc and native iSeries source,
most likely via iSeries Projects. Has anyone done this?
The immediate questions/concerns are:
-Can Subversion run on the iSeries?
-Is the Subclipse plug-in for connecting Eclipse to Subversion
compatible with WDSc?
