Jeff,

I guess that you tried the solutions mentioned in that link (very interesting, by the way!). It's intriguing to me that you said that you interrupted a long update in progress... maybe something got broken and that may be corrupting your old and new workspaces (I'm speculating here). Why don't you do the following: create/fix the workspace, and then try to update your WDSC (not necessarily in that order)?

Who knows... that might work.

Good luck!

Luis

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Workspace crashes

Thanks for the suggestion, Luis. I checked it out, but unfortunately it appears that this .registry file doesn't exist anymore. Perhaps it was used by WDSC 6.0 (the article is a few years old).

I did however find something else to try:

http://tapestryjava.blogspot.com/2004/10/worst-eclipse-crash-ever.html

I deleted the two files mentioned in one of the comments and it seemed to help, but then after a few relaunches it was claiming that a workspace crash had occurred again. So to test things I created a brand new workspace, launched and quit WDSC, launched it again, and the same workspace crash message appeared in the log. Sounds like something's just messed up and either I hit a bug or some code somehow became corrupt. I guess if it becomes more than cosmetic then I'll reinstall.

Thanks!

Jeff
