Thanks Eric, You are spot on, the verify (w/o prompt) gave an RNF0401: error
occurred during communication when retrieving /copy and external
definitions.

Recovery recommends restarting communications and compiling again... would
anyone know how to do that? I've already done the heavy handed approach:
close wdsc and launching it again. That did not do the trick.

Thanks

When I see this, I typically will prompt a verify, and set the refresh
cache option. As long as my libl is correct, this always seems to smooth
things out....

Subject: [WDSCI-L] outline view states file's external desc not
availablebut Show fields works!

running WDSc 6.0.1,

I refresh the outline view, select a file and I get the message 'external
description is not available'. Yet when I place my cursor on the file name
in the F spec, alt select and chose 'show fields' it builds my field list
(obviously found that description!?).

Anyone have any ideas what I'm encountering here?

Thanks to all for the tips the last few days... and for the tutorial
link. That helped me a lot.
