Correct. You cannot paste to a filter - only the items delivered by the
filter.

For convenience, I have an Object Filter that delivers all source files in
the desired library, (e.g. *CURLIB).

Exactly. I have two sets of source filters: one for source members and one
for source files. I don't do a ton of member copies, and so occasionally I
actually forget why I have a source file filter. Then I go to do a copy and
I say "oh yeah, that's why."

By the way, if you have too many filters, filter pools are VERY effective at
managing them.
